Learning German online: which course format fits your schedule?

Intensive course, after-work course or individual coaching: how the online formats differ.

Online learning is useful when travel, work schedules or location make classroom attendance difficult. The key is a structured plan with regular live sessions.

Intensive format for faster progress

Mayar’s current online intensive format runs five times per week in the morning or evening. It combines live teaching, digital materials, exercises, interim tests and a final certificate.

After-work format for employed learners

The flexible format offers two to three sessions per week in the evening or at weekends. Live sessions are combined with independent online units, making it suitable for steady long-term progress.

Individual coaching for a specific goal

One-to-one coaching can focus on an exam, job interview, presentation or professional language. Scheduling and materials are tailored to the learner.

Technical requirements

You need a computer, laptop or tablet, stable internet, camera, microphone and preferably a headset. A quiet learning space and fixed revision times are just as important as the technology.

Choosing the format

  • Intensive: when you have daily study time and need faster progress.
  • After work: when you need regular evening or weekend sessions.
  • One-to-one: when you have one clearly defined personal objective.
